4th of July Celebration 2007 (72 photos)

This year's 4th of July celebration was truly one to remember!  The traditional cook out, bocce tournament and ship races were complimented nicely by a silent auction, DJ, dancing - and all that food!  Hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ ribs, bruschetta, potato salad, yum!  Special thanks to Brother Bruno Cardo and the 4th of July volunteers for making the day so special, and thanks (again) to Brother Bernie Galante for some of the great photos you see below.

Of course, the 4th of July, or Independence Day, is the most important national holiday in the U.S.  It commemorates the formal adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.  It is also a wonderful opportunity to stop and give thanks to all of our service men and women that have fought so hard for our independence.  While it is a holiday marked by relaxing and fun activities, it is the blood, sweat and tears of American patriots that allow us to enjoy the day.
